Expanded polystyrene (EPS, with a trade name of Styrofoam) is a thermoplastic polymeric material, so it can be recycled in melt processing systems to produce new products. It also easily dissolves in many organic liquids (acetone, MEK, ethyl acetate, benzene, some others), thus, it is possible to make some products (like, adhesives/glue) through dissolution of EPS in appropriate/safe solvent(s).

Back to the question, because EPS is easily recyclable, all products made from EPS (shipment packaging, cup, others) must be put in the recycle bin, depending on the local regulation.
